As I was purchasing the domain letsgivetoday.com on Go Daddy, I was surprised to see that they were promoting something called Round Up for Charity during the checkout process. It is just as it sounds – if you choose, your total will be rounded up to the nearest dollar and the difference will be donated to charity. I’ve read that they have 15,000-40,000 domains purchased daily (I have no idea if there is any truth to this). But even if they only had 1,000 domains purchased a day, imagine the amount of possible charitable donations. Daily!
I selected the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund(JDRF) to receive my measly $1. It’s only $1, but it’s something. Make a secure online donation now to JDRF.
This process reminded me of when your grocery check-out person asks if you want to donate to a charity. I have no idea why, but I always say no. Do you ever donate at the grocery store?
