Can you imagine a company who makes giving away their profits a core value and priority? Laugh Brand just launched their children’s clothing line and are giving 30% of all profits to non-profit organizations. 30%!
Love Abundantly, Unconditionally Giving Help. LAUGH.
A goal we could all have, no?
After having traveled to Southeast Asia and witnessing the problem first hand, their goal is to help end child trafficking and exploitation by working with and donating to Not for Sale and Love 146. (Read more about both here.)
Facts from the Laugh Brand website:
There are more slaves in the world today than at any other time in history.
An estimated 1.2 million children are trafficked every year…some as young as 5 and 6.
An estimate 2 children are trafficked every minute…worldwide.
Allow those facts to sink in. Allow them to become real to you…
More slaves now than ever? But we don’t see this slavery in the US anymore. Thank God. I can’t imagine this.
My kids are 5. I can’t imagine them as slaves.
Two children become slaves every minute. TWO. I can’t imagine.
And just because I can’t imagine any of this actually happening, doesn’t mean it isn’t. And it certainly doesn’t mean I can turn a blind eye to it and go back to sipping my Starbucks and playing Angry Birds. It’s easy for us to build a nice, happy, safe world around us and pretend like these horrific things aren’t happening. Out of sight, out of mind.
But how do we help when the problem feels so far away? Unless you’re called to travel to help first hand, there is a very easy way to give back. Support Laugh Brand with clothing purchases and know that 30% of the profits are committed to go directly to non-profits that are working to end child trafficking.
And look at how gorgeous the clothing is! I know 3 boys who would fight over this shirt…
